Can't You Feel A Brand New Day?

Ok, that song from "The Wiz" has been in my head the past two days. No, I don't have it in my iPod (yet) so I guess it is just a general good feeling. Tuesday night, I made a drastic change and cut my hair! Woo Hoo! Isn't it amazing how seven years of growth only takes about thirty seconds to cut?? Crazy!!

Two of my girls joined me at the salon to witness the moment. I was a little nervous that I was going to be a little emotional. Nope! Once the first ten were gone, my head just felt lighter. I did not realize how little I was actually moving my head over the past few years. My friend, who happens to be a hair stylist superstar and helps put the dreads in, actually left about an inch of loc'ed hair on each dread and then combed it all out with a wide tooth comb. That gave me a bit more hair to play with. After a shampoo and condition, she just twisted little sections all over with her fingers and a flexible styling wax (that smelled so good!) It was cool, because it was styled a bit like little mini-locs. My hair didn't curl up a lot right away, because it was in shock as my friend said, but it is now curling nicely.

Tadd actually liked it when I came home. His first response was , "Ok, it is longer than I thought it'd be!" Oi, men and long hair! I was SO nervous going to work yesterday. My hands were literally shaking. So far everyone has said it looked good. They might not believe, but I don't care anymore! I really LIKE it! It is much edgier than the long locs and let's face it...I'm an edgy kind of girl!

So, without further ado...here is my new 'do!!
