I am Olivia in Twelfth Night and I must say it is pretty out-of-control funny. I am enjoying working with the cast and I get to do some fun things, including shamelessly chasing after two members of the cast. This show should NOT be missed! Yes, it is Shakespeare so the words take some getting used to, but since it is a very physical comedy, you will be able to keep up. I'd rate it PG-13...no nudity, no bad words, but some mock violence (Three Stooges style), imbibing, and plenty of double entendres.
After you get your fill of comedy , then come back to see Richard III. I am playing the Duchess of York. It is a darker play full of political intrigue. It will be visually amazing as we are planning for all sorts of special theatrical effects. The director likes to do edgy and somewhat controversial theater. This play is perfect for those people who think Shakespeare is boring...good luck trying to be bored with this one! I give it an R for violence...there will be plenty of guns, swords, and murder throughout. Not for the faint of heart!
I only invite people to things I perform in that I am confident will be good. And theater needs an audience to survive so if you are going to be in the Charlotte area, come on out and see us! Support my crazy theater habit!
