Personality

I should be in bed, I know, but I am trying to keep up with stuff. Besides, I will probably need to be up in a few minutes any way to soothe one of the Amazing Screaming Teenies. (Yes, that is the name of their act. I think they are planning to take it on the road, but not sure when...)

A few funny things about my kids:

My son, Peanut, likes to laugh a bunch. He finds hiccups incredibly funny. Which makes me laugh too. So the two of us were cracking up together for a good twenty minutes this afternoon. It sounds lame, but I'm pretty sure I've done the same thing backstage over a ridiculous one-liner.

My daughter, Pumpkin, might be part goat. Seriously, everything goes into her mouth. Tonight during bath time, she was grabbing the suds and eating them. Who knew bubbles were edible?? Or that they could be grabbed for that matter?

Baby food from a jar is like a party. When I pop open that jar and start spooning it up, you would think they were on a roller coaster ride.

Pumpkin love, love, LOVES feet. She loves her own feet and the feet of others. She takes off her socks all the time. And her brother's socks if they are close enough. And she grabs people's toes when she can. I have a feeling my girl will need large sums of money stashed away for shoes and pedicures. How young is too young for toenail polish?

Peanut likes to be held very, very close. When he is so tired that he just cannot stand it and he is freaking out, I can usually calm him down by carrying him in a sling. Which makes him look like a little peanut in a piece of bright colored fabric.

Naptime is pretty much a joke. I get them down (or they crash while playing depending on the day) and I start to nap or work on my writing or strategize my career or whatever...and they are back up bouncing in about FIFTEEN MINUTES!! It is crazy!! So, any suggestions on encouraging longer sleep cycles would be appreciated. I know they are not refreshed from those piddly naps because they wake up cranky. When they have a good sleep they wake up smiling and ready to play. There is a definite difference. Besides, a few days ago they would nap for an hour to an hour and a half. Was it all just jet-lag and must I accept a nap free existence?

So that's the fun with the bambinos. Oh, and I swear I will write about the trip...still trying to get this schedule thing down!

I need to write a complaint. This was an entire post withOUT photos!! You can't be talking about P&P without photos. That's just wrong. We need to see P&P!!!

Otherwise, I'm glad to read about their personalities and how you are adjusting quite splendidly to mommahood!
